The ivy clad Angler’s Rest has been a public house since 1753 and lies on the bank of the River Wye in the hamlet of Millers Dale, just off the Monsal Trail. This spectacular walk is a real must whilst you are staying with us.

90 Minute Scenic Walk

Turn right out of the site and follow follow the Pennine Bridleway through the gate on the right hand side. Follow the bridleway until you reach the Monsal Trail. Turn right onto the trail and follow the footpath, through the tunnels and past the Railway Station. Approximately half a mile after the station follow the footpath to the left and over a small footbridge to The Angler’s Rest.

50 Minute Shorter Walk

Turn left out of the site; follow the road down approximately 1/4 of a mile and turn left up the lane towards Blackwell Hall, following the public footpath. At the bottom of the hill turn right. When you get to the Monsal Trial turn left and go past the station. After half a mile follow the footpath to the left and over a small footbridge to The Angler’s Rest.

5 Minute Drive

Turn left out of the site and drive to the bottom of Blackwell. Turn left at the crossroads and drive for approximately 2 miles. Take the right turn opposite the church in Millers Dale and The Angler’s Rest is on the left.
