Local Walks
We have so many beautiful walks on our doorstep and many more just a short drive away.
The avid map reading hiker will be able to navigate their way through the peaks but for those who are not so great at map reading will find our ‘walks from the door’ helpful.
These can be printed off at home or purchased in our shop for a small fee.
The walk to the left is the famous Cheedale Stepping Stones found in the link below
Please find a list of accessible walks in the Peak Dsitrict on this link
The Monsal Trail
The Monsal Trail is a traffic free route for walkers, cyclists, horse riders and wheelchair users through some of the Peak District’s most spectacular limestone dales. The trail runs along the former Midland Railway line for 8.5 miles, In May 2011 a £2.25 million re-vamp of the tunnels was completed.
You can access The Monsal Trail by joining the Pennine Bridle way out side of the site entrance and following this for ¾ of a mile, you will then arrive at one end of the trail and this goes for 8.5 miles through to Bakewell. You can cut down to the river along the way if you want to add variation to your walk.
If you make it to Bakewell then you can catch the bus back to the top of our road, stopping at Blackwell Turn (just after Taddington)
