Pikehall Harness Racing

Since the first meeting in 1998, Pikehall harness racing has gone from strength to strength. They have been featured on the television and radio and they are now a major attraction in the Peak District.

The meeting attracts around 1000 spectators.

The horses, up to 10 in a race, race around a half mile track reaching speeds of 30mph and unlike ordinary racing the horses pass close by the spectators and can be clearly seen all the way round the track.

They have professioal commentary from Darren Owen, one of the countries leading race callers.

There will be 15 Bookmakers, so everyone can have a flutter and cheer their horse home.

The first race starts at 2pm on Sunday 8th July.

Pikehall is situated 12.9 miles a way from us at Beech Croft
