On Friday 21st November, the Christmas lights switch on and the Christmas Bazaar will be happening in Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens. Wrap up warm and come down to join in the festive fun organised by Buxton Sparkles which begins at 2pm in the Octagon with the Christmas Bazaar.
There will be something for all the family to enjoy at Buxton’s Winter Celebration. Visit Santa in his grotto or ride the train with the Snow Queen. Buy unusual and distinctive Christmas gifts at the Grand Bazaar or simply sit back and enjoy the carols and entertainment on the bandstand. Refreshments will be available all evening.
So bring your lanterns and join the celebrities, the Snow Queen and Buxy the reindeer in the community lantern procession. Led by the Ice King & High Peak Samba band, it will wind its way around the gardens to celebrate the magic of Christmas, returning to the bandstand for the grand finale when the lights will be switched on by Joseph Elliott, who plays Cook in the popular CBeebies series Swashbuckle. Come and see him at Buxton’s Winter Festival! He will later be appearing as Jack in the pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk at the Buxton Opera House.
